G is for Guest Bloggers

Technically I've only had one Guest Blogger, the lovely Emz, but I have had quite a few Guest Spots now.

Today's post is how I "met" Pauline who has guested for me a few times at Curling Stones.  Our conversation about beads started back in early August 2012 when I approached her as a random stranger via Facebook and that conversation has never really stopped.

Pauline's photo of some of her amber Trollbeads.

We exchanged emails, I sent her a link to my very "new" blog, she told me she knew where I lived!!!! Blimey I thought, first Internet stalker and I've only been blogging for 2 weeks!! Turns out it was all harmless as Pauline also lives in Yorkshire and had recognised where I was shopping simply by my descriptions of the shops, now there's a lady who knows her Trollbeads!

I had literally only just started the blog when I asked Pauline to guest, I was a relatively new collector and I was looking for some inspiration and someone who knew a lot more about Trollbeads who could guest on my blog.

Well I found inspiration and enthusiasm in bucketfuls with Pauline, she was generous, gracious and also very quick for a non-blogger - from initial contact, to ideas, to editing, to published post was only 2 weeks!

Unbeknownst to me at the time I'd stumbled upon one of the darlings of the Trollbead Collecting Community and I've never looked back.

You never know when that random stranger is about to become a good friend!

    1. Thank you! Pauline takes fantastic photos, if you ever see a stunning photo on my blog it's probably because Pauline has taken it ;) Unless I'm having an "off day" then it *might* be one of mine.

  7. I have been reading your A to Z challenge posts and quite enjoying them. Keep up the great work! I had to comment here due to the topic of your post, since I also met Pauline through the online Troll community, and she is a lovely lady indeed!

Isn't she? I think Pauline has that effect on everyone she meets :) I still can't believe we met through such random circumstances!

I love saying hi to people who've read my blog, or are just passing through via the A to Z, or anyone not a spam bot!

P.s. If you use an iPad/iPhone and are having trouble leaving a comment on Blogger, you might have better luck using a browser that's not the default iPad one... Then from the "Comment as" drop down menu choose Name/Url (you can leave URL field blank or add your web address) or Anonymous and (hopefully) away you go! Mars xx
