R is for Rebeligion

I had to wait a long time for this bracelet by Rebeligion.

Originally because I was being good by not starting any new brands - the longest wait... then, once I'd decided to take the plunge, the leather bracelet, the shutter and my first skull were ALL out of stock - the "I don't believe it" wait.  A 2 week wait was estimated; in the meantime I got bored waiting so I ordered the other 2 skulls for this bracelet.  Did I mention waiting is not my strong point?

Now I had 2 charms and no bracelet to put them on... 2 weeks turned into 3 weeks, which in turn turned into 4 weeks and finally the rest of the bracelet arrived.

Then there was the assemblage, some of this was quite hard as my newest skull was a wee bit tight (no make and break with this bracelet) but skulls 2 & 3 slipped on just lovely... and VOILA... my first Rebeligion True Silver bracelet with See No, Hear No, Speak No Skulls and Shutter.

...actually that's with a skull shutter!

I've been keen to try Rebeligion for quite a while now; the first time I saw the See No, Hear No, Speak No Evil Skulls - I knew this would be the perfect bracelet for me.

What have you waited for that has taken a long time?

  1. Aloha! Met you on #AZchat last week and am catching up w/ your blog. They look perfect for Halloween, though I also know people who just like skulls all the time. Like "Hello Skully" was a ring that a friend made.

    1. Hi Courtney!

I'm definitely a skulls all year round kinda gal! In much the same way that I feel fairy lights are not just for Christmas!

Thanks for popping by, I'm still catching up on my reading list from last week's #azchat... I might just finish it in time for this weeks!

  2. I don't think I've had to wait a longer than usual time for any packages, but most of my packages take 1-2 weeks to get to me anyway, so waiting is a regular part of my bead collecting experience :D

The items that were on my wish list the longest (that I had to "wait" for before buying) were the German Clover and Viking Knot, both of which took me almost a year to get (really, just because I'm not as disciplined as I should be ;)).

And I had to wait for almost six months between when I got my first X by Trollbeads link and when I could really wear it since I didn't have enough links to make a bracelet at first (bad planning on my part!).

    1. Yep I've never been great at the waiting, the last few UK purchases have been a delight as they have been quite quick! Currently waiting for one I ordered 3-4 weeks ago, and still not had a shipping notification yet, so preparing to do some more waiting!

I once had one lost in the post for several weeks and the seller was about to send me a new lot of beads as we'd both given up on it ever arriving. The day she was going to repost they arrived in the mail! Lucky timing.

Hope you're enjoying your X bracelet now :)

  3. Definitely an interesting and cool choice for the R post. Ah, the skull shutter ... nice.
I've waited for love a long time (too cheesy?, okay), maybe a Christmas gift I really wanted, although it's been a long time to remember the exact gift, but I'm sure it goes way back to childhood.
    Great post.

    1. Thanks Silvia!

Hmm too long for love... better that it's right and a long time coming than wrong with quick gratification that fades into mediocrity I guess?

I've had a few packages that have gone this way recently so it's been a lovely surprise when a few have actually turned up on time :)

    1. Hi Corinne, thanaks for popping in!

Yep it's always been a trait of mine that I'm not very good at waiting, makes buying jewellery from abroad both a frustrating and rewarding experience - currently waiting on a few packages and one is taking a very long time - it's driving me nuts!

  5. That's a great bracelet! Do the beads from this brand work with any other brands of chains/straps? If you happen to know...

    1. Hi Emma,

The holes are quite big as they fit over both leather strands, so whilst they will fit over most chains/brands because of this, they don't sit right as the holes are large and the scale looks wrong.

Whilst I was waiting for the bracelet to arrive I did try them out to see if I could wear the 2 charms that arrived but nothing looked quite right! Normally with a new brand there would have been a lot more info in the post but because it's the A to Z challenge I've been trying to keep everything short. I may come back to this with some more photos etc after the challenge...
