Winter Snow Bracelet ~ Hurrah it's December!

I've been waiting for December to arrive so that I can finally show you my Winter Snow Bracelet, which, er, I've been wearing since well before Halloween... phew, there, I've got that off my chest!

It all started when I picked up the retired Trollbeads Winter (61717) preloved, essentially it's a snowball dangle and it was one of a series of four seasonal dangles and a charm I've always wanted!

I was keen to put it to use immediately - in early October.  I've tried to do a white based snowy/icy style before but never quite managed to make one I was satisfied with.  This time it surprisingly only took 4 main attempts (with some minor tweaking inbetween) and I'm delighted with the results.

I typically post any seasonal bracelets, either very late, or completely out of the season/holiday I was thinking of, so I thought I'd try and be good and wait to show you this one at a more "seasonally appropriate" time.

I love the single garnet showing on Pure Passion as the one splash of colour, it reminds me of the berries you sometimes see in hedgerows when they are covered in snow.

Have you started making a "seasonal" bracelet for December?
What will you make this year?

  1. I wore my Christmas bracelet today for the first time. I have gone for the traditional red green white. I love the white that you have done. Love your new bead.x

    1. Thanks Tracy!

I think I will make another one before December is over, I fancy one with traditional colours but haven't settled on a design yet.

I don't really start Christmas until Christmas Eve so I'm always late to the party! I absolutely love seeing everyone else's though; there's been some sumptious red and green bracelets on display from today :D

  2. Super frosty winter sweetness in that bracelet. I love black and white, and now I think I love silver and white just as much. Perfect use of the silver beads to anchor the sparkle. The drop bead, the snowman, all of it is simply gorgeous!

    1. I've never done a black and white bracelet before... I never had that many whites either until Blizzard was released (whereupon I promptly bought 3), and then that sparked back collecting White Stripe and Paper Fold (which initially I was disappointed as it was more cream than white).

I love this; it's way more elegant that I would usually wear but it's always nice to have a change!

  3. What a stunning bracelet! Really beautiful! My newest winter-bead is the snowflake, which I love very much. Such a detailed bead! Did you recognise that every snowflake looks different on this bead?

    1. Me too today, I had to go out to do things for my day job and it was freezing here! Although the house is roasting as I'm away for work tomorrow and currently trying to dry some of my washing, bless my new boiler, works too well sometimes!

  5. I really love this. As you say, the little hint of red is a perfect splash of colour! I also really like the crystal triangles.

I usually don't get to my winter bracelet until January. December is taken up by Christmas bracelets, but I always need a pick-me-up in January. One of my Christmas bracelets is usually red/white/green and the other uses the darker beads from the 2012 Christmas decoration kit.

    1. Ooh will you be blogging these? I loved the darker kit initially in 2012 when they featured, but then I never actually got on with them in real life and didn't buy any! I always love to see bracelets with them in as I can never quite reconcile how I like how they look, but that they didn't work for me.

I'm going to go for a festive bracelet a bit later on, I love the one I made last year and was tempted to recreate that with maybe an update, but I've just seen some fabulous artisan beads that need to be featured! A plan is being formed!

    2. Yes, I will be blogging them sometime this month :) I have two other non-Christmas bracelets that I'm just putting the finishing touches on (I hope!) so I haven't spent much time on my Christmas combinations yet. But soon, soon!

    3. Was going to say that I love the splash of red as well. Makes me think of Snow White, with skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood and hair as black as ebony. :)

    4. Thanks! Always great to hear how someone else sees this, very evocative!

  6. Dear Mars,
I love your white Christmas bracelet (I wouldn't have the idea of it) I think it's really BEAITIFUL...
Now I wear my green/red Christmas blet since November... it keeps me with a nice feeling... of LOVE/PEACE/FAMILY/FRIENDSHIP)
Until now I thought this snow bangle would never do on my combo... Think I am changing my mind :)

    1. Thanks Pat! I don't normally wear such elegant bracelets, you know me I'm usually a riot of colour or at least a riot of muted colour and skulls!

However this is one I've wanted to make from an idea / vision in my mind that I never seemed to get "quite" right before. This one I absolutely adore! The other cool thing about this one is they are all production beads too - although the pearl zodiac stars are a little harder to get hold of these days (thankfully I bought them up whenever I found them so I have enough for my needs!)

    1. Thanks, I was wearing this on the weekend and did wonder if the weather was going to end up matching my wrist! Saturday's frost hung around for ages.

I'll be hanging on to this one for a while before it gets dismantled!
