S is for Swamp

Elfbeads (a brand of beadmaker) name their glass by Colour (sometimes this includes an additional type) followed by Design

Swamp is the name of a colourway given to certain Elfbeads, I have 4 beads in this range, it's a beautifully layered set of colours and one of my favourites.

In these photos, the beads are Swamp Universe, Swamp Universe Fractal x2, Swamp Dewdrops.

This is my final choice for S; I really struggled to keep it to just one as there were so many S topics I wanted to show you in my Addicted to Beads theme!

A to Zers - have you struggled with narrowing down your choice for any letters?
Bead Addicts - what do you think to Swamp as a colourway?
Feel free to answer both!

  1. For the A to Z Challenge I did have trouble narrowing down choices. Once, I couldn't choose, so I posted three posts on M day. Who says we must only choose one?

I haven't had much experience with glass beads, but have made some lovely rose petal beads. Not the most photogenic of beads, but they have an awesome history and they smell divine.

    1. I did originally choose two for S and wrote them both up, then realised that the second S could go somewhere else so I moved it as didn't have to time to find something else for the "other" letter! You're right, if I'd more time I'd probably choose the multiple route as well :D

I had to look up what rose petal beads were - awesome, had no idea suhc a thing existed!

    1. Thanks Archana, I've not been able to do as much blog hopping as I'd like this challenge, pesky thing called life got a bit in the way... I'm off though from Saturday and hoping I'll be able to catch up on some more new blogs then!

Good luck with the rest of the challenge :)

    1. Thanks Melanie, Elfbeads are a relatively new brand to the bead market, based in Holland but are creating a good buzz with bead fans and addicts - they make a lot of interested layered coloured glass! Their silvers are pretty too.

    1. Yep they've gone in glass what a lot of artisans have done, but not so much the bigger brands (well not in large numbers of choices, Trollbeads have done some lovely layered colours in glass but not as many choices).

Love this particular colourway! I have another dewdrops style one what they've termed a strawberry colour (like natural strawberries, all the various reds and oranges) which is also very pretty!

  5. The name swamp evokes dirty brown and slimy brown - but those are beautiful :) x

    1. Yes there is some sludgy green in there but I think not the opaque muddy brown one associates with swamps... it's a very pretty swamp!!

  6. Those are beautiful!
And yes, sometimes it is difficult to narrow my field, but usually I don't have that broad a topic. Mine usually involves one hard-to-find photo and writing a poem for it...Today has 2 because I liked both pictures and had one done when I found the second one!

    1. I love bumpy beads, ironically I've not made any myself yet as I always end up melting the dots down into flat ones... I don't think I have enough self control for bumpy beads yet!!

  8. I like the first of those on the left, it looks so organic :)

With 3 blogs in the A to Z, I didn't have much issue with too many options for my letters, and if I did, I did all three, like in Love, Lust and Loathing :D

    1. Lol I almost did a double V in one post, changed it then tweaked it again... S was two, now the second S is hidden somewhere else yet to come!

Yes the colours in the first bead are particularly gorgeous, utterly fab in sunlight!

I love saying hi to people who've read my blog, or are just passing through via the A to Z, or anyone not a spam bot!

P.s. If you use an iPad/iPhone and are having trouble leaving a comment on Blogger, you might have better luck using a browser that's not the default iPad one... Then from the "Comment as" drop down menu choose Name/Url (you can leave URL field blank or add your web address) or Anonymous and (hopefully) away you go! Mars xx
