W is for Wrist Shots

Part of the fun of meeting up with fellow bead addicts is looking at all the beads to see what bracelets people have made.

As a jewellery blogger I take lots of solo wrist shots (oo-er that sounds a bit rude) but group wrist shots are a "thing" within the world of bead addicts... and as my theme is Addicted to Beads it seemed only right to show you a few!

Here are some of my favourites...

Taken in May & June 2013 at a Troll Meet in Yorkshire

Photo taken as part of the Trollbeads on my Travels series

People's Bead 2014 Postcard Shot - taken as part of the 2014 April A to Z Challenge last year

My most recent wrist shot - last month at Trollbeads Newport aka Jeffries Jewellers!

I am not alone in my addiction as you can see... my question to you today is:

Have you got any unusual photograph rituals - or is it just us bead addicts?

    1. I like the solo ones I take on the train, I think I usually get a good shot (despite the train swaying) as you're surrounded by windows, so although the setting can be a bit lack lustre the light is usually very good!

  5. I wonder how many women seem to wear two bracelets together. I´m always afraid the glass could scratch. But I love the wrist shots! Great theme!

    1. I only do it occasionally (usually a "special" occasion) and the only thing I can say is I'm much more aware of wearing 2 bracelets and more careful than I would be if I were just wearing 1 for that reason!

Thanks, I love wrist shots too, I like drooling over other people's beads so it's always good to have that photograph for keeps!

    1. Thanks, it is a rather spectacular array of bracelets, it's mostly (but not quite) one brand and I love how the bracelets are all so different.

  8. All look very spectacular - but I don't know how you would wear a beaded bracelet next to a watch on your wrist - I never can always too worried about scratching watch face. Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace

    1. My watches are always very cheap so I guess I'm not worried about that, although I rarely wear a bracelet next to a watch, but they tend to sit below the watch so the winder always keeps them away from the face.

  9. I'd love to go to an event where I could take a wrist shot. :) Although somehow I wonder if my bracelet might pale in comparison to others. Plus, I rarely wear more than one at a time, so I'd stand out that way :D

I don't know that I have any odd photography rituals (other than photographing my bracelets/wrist).

    1. I guess my other photographic ritual is a group of friends I met up with at gigs, at the end of the night when everyone is usually sweaty and dishevelled we always try and take a group pic if possible... invariably loads get missed off but the few times you manage to get most people on is fab!

I don't normally double/triple up but at bead meets often someone asks about seeing a certain bracelet so sometimes I double up for that reason! I think I would rather wear it than carry it, so you do end up looking like a bead catalogue model sometimes...

At the Cambridge Event in January my friend Kay was explaining my Skeleton Spirit bracelet to someone whilst I had my back to her talking to someone else, she got round the problem by just using my wrist with my bracelet on to explain it, passers by probably thought she was strong arming me into a purchase ;)

I love saying hi to people who've read my blog, or are just passing through via the A to Z, or anyone not a spam bot!
