X is for X-rated!

Actually not really but a few people thought these two beads bore a passing resemblance to something else... Things I didn't intend to make as part of My Glass Beadmaking Journey.

The pink bead came first, I was trying to recreate a drop pendant type bead and twisted the end to make a spiral of translucent purple colours, only it kept springing back to form a head...

The black bead started life as normal shaped bead that was going to have a silver star on it... only the star "sunk" into the glass and it's shape developed as I was trying to pull it off to release the star... the star is still buried in the bead somewhere, near the tip I think...

Have you ever accidentally created anything X-rated?

  1. LOL - I can see why people think the beads are x-rated, especially the pink one ;). I don't usually created x-rated things accidentally, just perfectly deliberately :D
I did almost accidentally give a character an unfortunate names once - in my head I was pronouncing it completely differently, but my sister pointed out how is could sound very rude.

    1. That pink bead made me giggle when I was making it, no matter how I changed the shape in the flame, that's what it kept going back to, it really really wanted to be that shape!

  2. This is where my dirty mind comes out and, yeah, I can see the accidental x-rated nature of those shapes ;P

Like Tash, my x-rated work is normally deliberate! I don't think I've ever done anything like that deliberately, but I can mention another Tasha one, where action was taking place in her story just after a bedroom scene and she forgot to have her character put on any clothes before joining said action!

    1. Lol, now I want to know did the nakedness make it's way into the story or did some clothes have to be written in??

  3. Well, I love your little penis beads and I think you should make lots of jewelry featuring them.

  4. Those are awesome :D Really, it's the colour of the first that just makes it what it is. The second I think would pass for something else, I think.

I haven't made anything x-rated that I can think of. Although now I would be curious if anyone else had thought any of my creations were x-rated!

    1. The second was called Grammar Vs Anatomy - it also looks like a comma when it's on it's side :) I don't usually name beads but sometimes they lend themselves to a name!

I've had it happen before when I used to make candles, but I wasn't expecting it glass, but glass wants to be where it wants to be...

I love saying hi to people who've read my blog, or are just passing through via the A to Z, or anyone not a spam bot!

P.s. If you use an iPad/iPhone and are having trouble leaving a comment on Blogger, you might have better luck using a browser that's not the default iPad one... Then from the "Comment as" drop down menu choose Name/Url (you can leave URL field blank or add your web address) or Anonymous and (hopefully) away you go! Mars xx
